DPANZ offers several courses that may be of interest to travellers who would like to tour the world as a Dive Professional, Dive Leader, or Dive Instructor:

Our Curriculum

Learning Levels:
We're all about choice. We'll let you decide when you're ready to turn your diving into a career. Until then, we can still offer you continuing education through the two major training systems - PADI & NAUI.

When you are ready to Go, Go, Go! you can meet with our on-site training manager to find out the best possible pathway to a new and brighter future - in dive tourism! We have three distinct levels to choose from:

  1. Rescue Diver
  2. Dive Leader
  3. Dive Instructor

Compulsory Core Dive Professional Base Training:

  • Care and Maintenance of a Dive Vessel - 1 day practical training
  • First Aid / CPR - half day practical training
  • Environmental Awareness & Responsibility - 1 day seminar
  • Administration of Oxygen in Emergencies - half day practical training
  • Scuba Tank Fillers Certification - half day practical training
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Management - self-directed
  • Retail Assistance - 2 day practical training
  • Adventure Tour Planning and Management - self-directed
  • Working with Children and Young People - 1 day seminar
  • Underwater Site Mapping - self-directed

* NAUI Advanced Scuba Diver to Divemaster
* NAUI ITC (Instructor Training course - ITP+IQP) / ICC (Instructor Crossover course - ICP+IQP)
* PADI Advanced Open Water to Divemaster

Unless you are a NZ resident, you may only be able to undertake one of these elective courses.
