TUC was founded by Colin & Annette Due in 1996.   Opening as a PADI Dive Centre on Hewlett's Road, Mount Maunganui and moving to its present location at 50 Cross Road, Sulphur Point, Tauranga, New Zealand in November 1999.   The new company premises was purpose built providing a much larger showroom area, service bay and separate fill bay with direct access from the loading bay.A large heated salt water pool, changing rooms complete with hot showers,two classroms, boat parking and gear storage all under the same roof make for a large complex. Ample parking is available with room when towing your boat. The shop is located 200 metres from Tauranga's largest boat ramp on the road to the Marina.

A large on site training room and deep training pool is housed in the same building. Accomodation in the form of a bunkroom, 4 single, 1 double couch in the main classroom. A full size kitchen with cooking facilities cater for the travelling diver and student also. All facilities available make for a relaxed and comfortable training environment.

Colin has been diving since 1981 and has obtained certification to PADI Master Instructor level thru the PADI training system. Colin is also a Emergency First Response Instructor, DAN O2 provider and Instructor of the MSA qualification "Master of a Small Dive Boat".  Training is done by Colin and other instructors on staff  with a high level of experience ranging from Master Instructor, IDC Staff and MSDT's.   The location at Sulphur Point makes it conveniently placed to cover the Tauranga and Mount Maunganui areas, students and divers travel to attend both nationally and internationally.

Diving charters are organized by the TUC. Trips are available seven days, weather permitting, through out the year, and TUC strives to only offer dive trips from reputable operators.



LOCATION

TUC is conveniently situated on the road to the main Marina.

Take the Wharf and Marina road (Mirrielees Rd) from the roundabout leading to the Harbour bridge, turn left to the Marina into Cross Rd and TUC is beside the railway line just before the boat ramps.
